Fire Department Employment Testing

Laramie Fire Department Entry Level Testing

The Laramie Fire Department will establish an eligibility list for entry level Firefighters for positions that may arise in the future. Applications are available and should be mailed to the Laramie Fire Department, Attention: Lori Stalder, P.O. Box C, Laramie , WY 82073, or delivered to the Laramie Fire Department at 209 S. 4th Street , Laramie , WY , or faxed to (307)721-5333. Applications must be received by Friday, September 7th, 2007, at 4:00p.m. in order to participate in the testing process.  Questions may be directed to Lori Stalder at the Fire Department at (307) 721-5334. Testing procedures are described below.

 9:00 a.m.      Physical Agility Test Orientation: Candidates may attend an orientation

                        explaining the physical test, with an opportunity to view an instructional video,

                        view the test being performed by instructors, be given a training guide, and ask

                        questions. Attendance is encouraged, but not required.

  Location: LFD Training Facility, South of Laramie, Highway 287.

6:00 p.m.   Written Examination - 1 st Session : Candidates may participate in either the

                         first or second session of the Written Examination. A 70% score is required to

                         pass the written exam.  The top scoring canidates will be scheduled for the

                         Canidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) on September 15th, to move forward

                         with the testing process. 

                         Location: Albany County Fair Grounds, Activities Center West, 3510 S. 3rd

                         St., Laramie, WY

9:00 a.m.   Written Examination - 2 nd Session : Candidates may participate in either the

Saturday, September 15, 2007

7:00 a.m. or  Physical Agility Test : The CPAT is a physically demanding pass/fail test.  The

 12:30 P.m.         top canidates, based on written test score, who pass the CPAT will be

                           scheduled for an oral interview on either September 16th or 17th.   

                           Location:   LFD Training Facility, 2451 County Shop Rd. Take Hwy. 287 

                           South of Laramie, right on Blackfoot St. Right on County Shop Rd. 

Sunday/Monday, September 16 & 17, 2007

8:00 a.m.     Oral Interviews : Interviews will be approximately thirty minutes each.                                        Location: LFD Station II Conference Room, 1558 N. 23rd St.

NOTE: If acceptable candidates cannot be found in the top thirty, other testing applicants may be contacted. Any eligible candidate selected for an available position will be required to pass a medical examination including a drug screen.
