The LARC Division Dispatch Center provides E-911 services for all Laramie and Albany County residents.  Primarily, the LARC Dispatch Center serves:

 

Additionally, LARC serves:

  • City of Laramie Water Department – after hours emergency calls

  • Centennial Volunteer Fire Department

  • Little Laramie Volunteer Fire Department

  • Big Laramie Fire Department

  • Rock River Volunteer Fire Department

  • Vedauwoo Volunteer Fire Department

  • Tie Siding Volunteer Fire Department

  • US Forest Service law enforcement officers

  • Albany County Search & Rescue

The Dispatch Center is the only public safety answering point (PSAP) in Albany County.  All emergency and non-emergency calls are routed through LARC Dispatch.  Medical and Fire emergencies that occur on the University of Wyoming campus are also taken and dispatched by LARC dispatchers.  Each year, on average, the Dispatch Center handles:

  • Laramie Police Department                 55,000 calls for service

  • Albany County Sheriff’s Office            15,000 calls for service

  • Laramie Fire Department (EMS)         2,000 calls for service

  • Laramie Fire Department (Fire)          700 calls for service

 

On average, over 500 non-emergency calls and 30 911 calls are handled by a staff of 12 dispatchers working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
