- How do I connect or disconnect City of Laramie services?
- In order to connect City of Laramie services, a connect form must be completed. We do not require a deposit to start the account, but do require the owner’s signature in lieu of a deposit. Residential accounts must be in the name of the owner (Refer to Notice for Rules concerning billing Record Owner). This rule does not apply to commercial water customers where the primary use of the structure is not residential, however, the record owner is responsible for payment on the account if tenant would not pay.
- Disconnecting your City of Laramie services may be done by phone or coming to our front desk. In order to get an accurate final read on the day of termination, please notify the City of Laramie at least two days prior to your termination date.
- Can I terminate my services if my house is going to be vacant?
- If the house is going to be vacant (for example: the house is vacant and for sale or you are going to be out of town for an extended period), there are two options.
- If you would choose, the water can be turned off which would terminate all services. If water is shut off it is up to the owner to winterize property to avoid freezing. If this is the option you would choose, you would receive a final bill through the date the water was shut off. When the water is turned back on, there is a $40 turn on fee and the City of Laramie requires that someone meet them at the location when water is restored.
- If you would choose to leave the water on, the City of Laramie can offer a garbage stop credit on the account. Notification must be made PRIOR to beginning a garbage stop. Garbage services will continue to bill while the house is vacant. When notification is received that the house has either sold or been reoccupied, a credit will be issued. The house must be vacant for longer than 30 days in order to receive this credit.
- I own a rental and would like my tenant to pay the bill. What do I need to do?
